Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the identification of the police officers seen in a viral video assaulting a citizen, and Commissioner of Police CP Nnaghe Obono Itam has taken immediate action by ordering disciplinary proceedings to commence.
In response to the incident, the Police Command is also urging the victim to come forward and assist in facilitating the necessary procedures involved in the process. It is emphasised that under CP Itam’s watch, the command will not tolerate any form of unprofessional conduct by police personnel. He highlights the importance of officers remaining courageously calm when dealing with the civil populace, especially when faced with provocation.
Furthermore, the CP urges citizens to always respect civil authority and abide by the law. The command emphasises its commitment to ensuring the safety and protection of all citizens.
