In a swift and coordinated effort, the Joint Security Team successfully rescued three kidnap victims along the Onitsha/Owerri Express Road in Ozubulu at approximately 7:20 a.m. today.
The victims, who had sustained varying degrees of injuries inflicted by their abductors, were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital by the security team. Authorities have confirmed that the victims are responding well to treatment and will be debriefed by the Police once they recover.
The rescue operation was initiated following the report of the victims’ abduction at Nkwelle-Ezunaka in Oyi Local Government Area. Security checkpoints across the state were promptly alerted, leading to the successful interception and rescue effort.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc MNIPS PhD, has commended the operatives for their swift response and urged them to intensify efforts to track down the perpetrators. He reassured the residents of Anambra State of the Command’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
CP Orutugu emphasized that the Police will sustain their onslaught against criminal elements to ensure they are denied the opportunity to operate within the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident in a statement from the Anambra State Police Command headquarters in Awka.
