There Is Still Much to Be Done,” Says CP Orutugu as He Commends Officers’ Professionalism During Party Primaries in Anambra
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc, MNIPS, PhD, has commended the professionalism and dedication displayed by officers of the Anambra State Police Command who were deployed for the just-concluded party primary elections across the state.

Speaking today, April 6, 2025, CP Orutugu acknowledged the successful and orderly conduct of the National Assignment, which involved the selection of governorship flag bearers for the respective political parties. While applauding the efforts of the personnel involved, the CP emphasized that the task ahead remains critical.
“There is still much to be done,” CP Orutugu stated, “especially as we move towards the campaign period and the main elections. It is essential that we maintain professionalism and neutrality, ensuring a peaceful and secure environment for all.”
He reiterated the Command’s commitment to upholding law and order, assuring Ndi Anambra and political stakeholders of a secure atmosphere that encourages democratic participation without fear or intimidation.
The Commissioner further stressed the importance of law enforcement’s non-partisanship, particularly during electoral activities, and urged officers to sustain the high standards of conduct already exhibited.
In a statement released by SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Police Command, the force reassured the public of its resolve to remain vigilant, proactive, and impartial throughout the entire electoral process.
