A grassroots support group known as Solution Marshalls has called for the re-election of Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, ahead of the 2025 governorship election. The group, comprising keke, shuttle bus, and truck drivers registered under the State Ministry of Transport, commended the governor for his exceptional performance within two years in office, urging voters to give him another term to complete his developmental agenda.
On Friday, the group, accompanied by journalists, embarked on an inspection tour of several key projects initiated by Soludo’s administration. The tour included ongoing projects such as the construction of the Ekwulobia flyover, the Ekwulobia General Hospital, the rehabilitated Okpoko slum, and the Okpoko General Hospital.
Speaking after the tour at Okpoko General Hospital in Ogbaru Local Government Area, the National Coordinator of Solution Marshalls, Comrade Osita Obi, explained that the inspection was organized to verify the state of these projects and showcase how taxpayer money is being utilized effectively. He emphasized that Okpoko, once one of the largest slums in West Africa, has seen significant transformation under Soludo’s leadership.
“The aim of the tour is to market the state government from a private angle and to tell Anambra registered voters why they should massively reelect Governor Chukwuma Soludo in 2025,” Obi stated. “The governor has done tremendously well and deserves support to continue his developmental agenda.”
Among the governor’s accomplishments, Obi highlighted the recruitment of 5,000 teachers to address the long-standing issue of teacher shortages in schools. He also praised the governor’s healthcare reforms, which include free antenatal care for pregnant women and the establishment of hospitals in underserved areas like Okpoko and Ekwulobia. Additionally, the coordinator noted that Soludo’s empowerment of 5,000 youths through the “One Youth, Two Skills” program has helped curb crime and drug use by offering young people sustainable means of livelihood.
The Secretary General of the group, Comrade Emmanuel Oramalu, added that Soludo’s administration is delivering dividends of democracy without focusing on political gains. “From his first day in office, he showed the people that he came to work for them. Through Soludo, the story of Okpoko has changed,” Oramalu said, appealing to the public to support the governor’s second-term bid to make Anambra a livable and prosperous state.
Medical officers in charge of the Okpoko and Ekwulobia General Hospitals also praised Soludo’s initiatives, particularly the free antenatal services and improved healthcare facilities for the less privileged. They revealed that despite being underutilized, the hospitals treat an average of 120 patients each month.
The Solution Marshalls reiterated their commitment to supporting Soludo’s vision and urged all residents of Anambra to back his re-election in 2025.
