As the world celebrates Children’s Day, Mr. Ossy Onuko (Ifeigbo), Convener of Soludo Ambassadors, has sent his warmest congratulations to children, particularly those in Anambra State, on this special occasion. In his goodwill message, Mr. Onuko urged the youth to steer clear of anti-social behaviours and focus on their education for a brighter future.
With a strong emphasis on the importance of education, Mr. Onuko encouraged children to avoid drug abuse, cultism, and examination malpractice. He stressed that education not only brings hope for their individual futures but also plays a significant role in the development of Anambra State and the country as a whole.
Drawing attention to the efforts of Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, Mr. Onuko praised the Governor’s commitment to creating a conducive learning environment. He acknowledged the Governor’s strides in training teachers with modern teaching techniques, which have catapulted Anambra State to the forefront in various academic competitions.
Additionally, Mr. Onuko appealed to parents to prioritize education for their children, particularly emphasizing the importance of educating girls. By educating girls, Mr. Onuko explained, infant and maternal mortality rates can be reduced, and early child marriages can be discouraged. He urged parents and guardians to recognize the potential impact of education on the well-being of their children and the society at large.
Recognizing the role of health in children’s overall well-being, Mr. Onuko commended Anambra State First Lady, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, for her initiatives promoting healthy living. He highlighted the extension of these programs to schools and encouraged parents, guardians, and children to embrace them wholeheartedly. By embracing these health campaigns, they can ensure the health and longevity of not only themselves but also future generations.
In conclusion, Mr. Ossy Onuko, Convener of Soludo Ambassadors, called on parents and guardians to provide adequate care and support for their children. Recognizing them as the future leaders, he emphasized the importance of nurturing and empowering them to reach their full potential.
As the children of Anambra State and beyond celebrate Children’s Day, the messages and guidance from leaders like Mr. Onuko serve as an inspiring reminder of the value and potential within each and every child.
