In the bustling commercial hub of Onitsha, Anambra State, notorious for its past reputation of crime and chaos, a remarkable transformation has taken place. Once known for its rampant incidents of bag, phone, and cap snatching, the city has now found a new sense of peace and security, thanks to the efforts of the Special Anti-Touting Agency (SASA).
SASA, under the leadership of Director Hon. Solomon Chukwuebuka Onwuemene, has been at the forefront of the fight against touting, bringing much-needed order to the streets of Onitsha, Ogidi, and Obosi. The agency’s diligent work has not gone unnoticed by residents and visitors alike. Citizens now move freely, and businesses flourish without the constant fear of harassment.
However, not everyone is pleased with SASA’s progress. Certain individuals, driven by ulterior motives, seek to undermine the agency’s efforts. Some media outlets, fueled by gossip rather than investigative journalism, have attempted to tarnish the image of SASA, ignoring the voices of the people. These reports fail to acknowledge the reality on the ground, where locals have embraced the agency’s work as a vital lifeline to their safety.
Ambassador Karen James, an experienced investigative journalist, has toured Onitsha extensively, speaking directly with the residents. Their testimonies are clear: SASA has brought much-needed relief to the city. “We now feel safe walking the streets,” one resident proudly declared, his hand on his chest, expressing his gratitude to the agency. “Visitors can now enter Onitsha, conduct their business, and leave without incident.”
Despite the opposition, SASA’s contribution to the improved security of the state is widely recognized. Governor Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has expressed his support for the agency, acknowledging its role in stabilising the city’s commerce and maintaining peace.
The efforts of SASA, particularly in the historically volatile areas of Onitsha, Ogidi, and Obosi, are a testament to the power of effective governance and strong leadership. As the state continues to enjoy the benefits of this newfound peace, it is clear that anyone seeking to dismantle the agency’s good work is not only opposing SASA but also standing against the interests of the people of Ndi Anambra.
All thanks go to the tireless leadership of Hon. Solomon Chukwuebuka Onwuemene and his team for their dedication to ensuring Onitsha remains a safe and welcoming environment for all. The people of the state are grateful, and the evidence of SASA’s success is visible on every peaceful street corner.
