In a bid to enhance school safety and sustain peace in Anambra State, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc MNIPS PhD, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, intensified advocacy under the Police Safe School Initiative. This proactive strategy aims to safeguard schools, students, teachers, and staff from security threats.
During his visit to several schools in the state, CP Orutugu emphasized the importance of protecting educational institutions, stressing that security agencies have heightened their presence, particularly on Mondays, to counter the negative impacts of the illegal Sit-At-Home order.
The CP commended Ndi Anambra and residents for their resilience, noting the significant improvement in social and economic activities on Mondays. He assured citizens that the police, in collaboration with other security agencies, have taken strategic measures to ensure the safety of businesses and educational activities.
Accompanied by the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon. Ify Obinabo, CP Orutugu encouraged residents to conduct their daily activities without fear of harassment or intimidation.
