In a shocking development, Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who died in London on Saturday. Obi, in a statement shared on his X handle, described Ubah’s death as a rude shock, emphasising their close relationship and calling Ubah his “dear younger brother.”
The Senator, known for representing Anambra South Senatorial District, warmly welcomed Obi during a recent burial ceremony in Nnewi, Anambra State.
The two engaged in discussions about the nation’s state, with Ubah expressing his understanding and alignment with Obi’s commitment to humanity’s progress.
Despite their party differences, Obi acknowledged Ubah’s significant contributions to society through his Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation, which focused on education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation.
Obi concluded his statement by praying for Ubah’s soul to find eternal rest and extended condolences to Ubah’s family, constituents, and the entire nation.
This unfortunate loss has left a void in the hearts of those who knew and admired Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s work towards a better Nigeria.
