Onitsha, Anambra State – In a solemn display of compassion, the Mayor of Onitsha North Local Government Area, Hon. Nweze Tony Nwora, paid a condolence visit yesterday to the grieving family of late Hon. Justice Azuka, the Anambra State House of Assembly member representing Onitsha North 1 Constituency.

Hon. Justice Azuka was kidnapped on December 24, 2024, and after days of uncertainty, his decomposing body was discovered near the Second Niger Bridge two days ago. The tragic event has left the Onitsha community in mourning, prompting an outpouring of support for his bereaved family.
During the visit, Mayor Nwora expressed his profound sorrow over the devastating loss, offering words of comfort to the late lawmaker’s mother, wife, and children. He urged them to take solace in God’s will, praying for divine strength to help them endure this painful moment.
“We deeply mourn the loss of Hon. Justice Azuka, a dedicated leader who served his people with passion. May his soul rest in peace, and may God grant his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” the Mayor said.
Mayor Nwora assured the grieving family that justice would be served, vowing that all those responsible for the heinous crime would face the full force of the law. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the family during this difficult time.
Accompanied by his cabinet members and Council Leader, Hon. Nnamdi Benjamin Okwuayanga, the Mayor signed the condolence register, further extending his heartfelt sympathies.
The tragic loss of Hon. Justice Azuka has sent shockwaves through Onitsha North and Anambra State, with calls for enhanced security measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
