The Chairman of Nigeria Union Of Journalists, NUJ, Anambra State Council Dr. Odogwu Emeka Odogwu Ph.d, has assured newly inaugurated Executives of Angel Network News (ANN) Chapel that he will support them in achieving their aims and objective.
Comrade Odogwu, while speaking before the inauguration held at the office of ANN Chapel in Udoka Estate Awka on Monday, August 5th, 2024, urged its members to spread the light by distinguishing themselves.
Comrade Odogwu stated that ANN Chapel is made up of former members of Orient Dailys, which has gone moribund alongside other practicing journalists who have decided to come together and form a formidable force.
Members of ANN Chapel Executives include Mr. Bonvera Ndubuisi (Chairman), Comrade Okechukwu Cyril Nwuche (Vice Chairman), Mr. Ifeanyi Okonkwo (Secretary), Mr. Dan Dove Nwankwo (Assistant Secretary), Mrs. Ada Nwanagum (Treasurer), Mr. Ifeanyi Ndukwe (Financial Secretary), Mr. Felix Otie (Auditor) .
An ICON of NUJ, Prof. Chinyere Stella Okunna, in her speech, expressed optimism that the ANN Chapel will do well. She tasked the Executives to pilot the affairs of the chapel with all seriousness.
Okunna, a professor of mass communication who is also a member of the Chapel, said she for-see a chapel that will make NUJ proud. She called for dedication and commitment to the profession, charging members of ANN Chapel to abide by the ethics of the profession.
Assistant Secretary NUJ Anambra State Council Comrade Okechukwu Onuegbu
while speaking said the expectation of ANN Chapel is high considering the caliber of the members and that he is confident that the members will work together in uplifting the union.
ANN Chairman, Comrade Bonvera Ndubisi, in his remark, said it is time to change the narrative and that NUJ Anambra State Council will be transformed through the emergence of ANN Chapel.
Manager Angel Network News Dr. Ifeanyi Obiefuna, while speaking, encouraged all members of the chapel to be their brothers and sisters keepers. He called for unity of purpose and dedication, stating that ANN has the potential of becoming the best Chapel in NUJ Anambra Council.
ANN Vice Chairman Comrade Okechukwu Cryil Nwuche thanked Dr. Odogwu and Comrade Onuegbu for their leadership qualities in the past years. He called on all members of the Chapel to join hands and make NUJ Anambra Council better through contributing their quota.
Other members who attended participated on the election includes; Comrade Emeka Chiaghanam, Comrade Cynthia Igbokwe-Anarado, Comrade Ezeadum Maryrose, Comrade Lawrence Nwimo and Comrade Sunday Elom
