The Anambra State Police Command remains resolute in its pursuit of justice following the deadly cult-related attack in Nibo on October 20, 2024, which left five individuals dead and three others critically injured. The injured victims are currently receiving medical treatment.
In a strong statement, the police expressed dismay at attempts by certain individuals, including relatives of the deceased, to hinder the investigation by suppressing evidence and obstructing justice. The command stressed that such actions will not deter their efforts to bring the culprits to book.
Earlier today, the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, personally led a team of operatives to the crime scene for a detailed spot assessment. CP Itam reaffirmed the command’s commitment to apprehending the perpetrators, assuring the public that no stone will be left unturned in the investigation.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, also emphasised that further updates on the investigation will be provided as developments unfold. He called on the public to cooperate fully with law enforcement and to refrain from actions that could impede justice.
The Command has redoubled its efforts to track down those responsible for the killings, reiterating that all necessary measures will be taken to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
More details are expected as the investigation progresses.
