Residents of Umuabu Village in Ekwusigo Local Government Area converged to bid farewell to the late Josephine Udeozor Udoye, a revered community leader, philanthropist, and devout Christian mother of the Ihembosi Catholic community. The funeral ceremony, held in the village, marked the final farewell to the 67-year-old late Udoye.
During the burial service, Chief Ebuka Onunkwo, CEO of Seahorse Oil and a respected member of the community, delivered a remark on the inevitability of death as the ultimate end of life on earth. He emphasized that, for Christians, death is a transition into everlasting life, urging them to embrace a renewed way of living and always be prepared for this eternal journey.
Mr. Frank Nnadozie, a close friend of the Udoye family, extended his condolences and reminded the family that death is an inevitable fate that all mortals must face. He encouraged them to uphold their mother’s legacy and never allow any intruder to diminish her impact on the community.
Chief Chiedu Udoye, one of the deceased’s sons, spoke to the press, praising his mother as a noble and selfless woman who consistently brought joy to the lives of others. He emphasized her heart of gold and her unwavering commitment to charitable acts. Chief Udoye expressed his family’s intention to immortalize their mother’s memory by living lives worthy of emulation.
Finally, Ezenyerenwa, a member of the community, expressed gratitude to all those who attended the funeral service, praying for abundant blessings upon them.
It was a solemn event that showcased the deep respect and admiration the community held for Ma Udoye, ensuring that her legacy as a devoted community leader and philanthropist will be remembered for generations to come. May she rest in eternal peace.
