In Nnewi, Anambra State, the newly appointed Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Mr. Livingstone Itikioye Urutugu, has vowed to bring to justice the killers of three siblings in Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Area. According to the CP, initial investigations suggest that the perpetrators reside within the community.

Speaking during a visit to the crime scene, less than two hours after officially resuming office at the Command in Awka, CP Urutugu expressed his commitment to reducing crime in the state to its lowest level.
“We are here today for a spot assessment of the unfortunate incident involving the murder of three siblings who were later found stored in a fridge. This heinous act will not go unresolved,” Urutugu stated.

He emphasized the Command’s dedication to unraveling the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident and ensuring that the culprits are apprehended and brought to justice.
During his address, the CP consoled the grieving family and acknowledged the efforts of the Anambra State Government and residents through initiatives like Operation Udo Ga Chi, which aims to combat insecurity and foster peace.

“We will deploy strategic crime-fighting methods, bolster intelligence operations, and collaborate with sister security agencies, local vigilante groups, and other stakeholders to ensure the safety of Ndi Anambra,” he assured.

CP Urutugu also urged residents to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and supportive of security agencies while warning criminals to abandon their unlawful activities. “For those who have chosen the path of crime, this is a warning—retrace your steps immediately. The Command will deal decisively with all forms of criminality without regard for status,” he cautioned.

The visit and strong stance by the new Police Commissioner have raised hopes for swift justice and increased security in the state. Community members expressed gratitude for the CP’s prompt attention to the case, emphasizing the need for sustained efforts to eradicate crime in the area.
