Asks for patience during a visit to Ooni of Ife’s palace
Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on Nigerians not to blame her husband, President Bola Tinubu, for the current economic hardship facing the country. Speaking on Thursday during a visit to the Palace of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Oluremi Tinubu highlighted that the administration is still in its early days and working tirelessly to address the challenges confronting the nation.
“My husband is not the cause of Nigeria’s hardship today,” she said during the inauguration of a new hostel and a 2.7-kilometre road donated by the Ooni of Ife to Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife. The road has been named in her honor.
Acknowledging the concerns of citizens, the First Lady urged Nigerians to exercise patience as the government works to fix the economy, reiterating that the Tinubu administration inherited the economic issues and is focused on long-term solutions
The event was attended by dignitaries, including the Ooni of Ife, who praised the First Lady for her commitment to national development.
