*Onitsha, Pechilly Investigative Media* – The Environmental Marshal of the Ocha Brigade, Hon. Ejike Odife, has emphasised the need for increased manpower and support to sustain the environmental cleanliness efforts in Onitsha and its surrounding areas. In an exclusive interview with Pechilly Investigative Media, Hon. Odife expressed his gratitude to the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, for his continuous efforts to improve the state’s infrastructure and environmental conditions. He also extended his appreciation to Hon. Anere, the Managing Director of Ocha Brigade, for his leadership and commitment to environmental sustainability.
Hon. Odife, who oversees the day-to-day operations of the environmental marshal team, highlighted the challenges he faces in his mission to keep Onitsha clean. He noted that one of the primary challenges is the need for more personnel to effectively manage the growing waste and pollution concerns in the city.
“I wake up every day by 4 a.m. and close by 11:30 p.m. to ensure that our environment remains clean and healthy,” Hon. Odife said. “However, the workload is immense, and we need more hands on deck to tackle it effectively. If we can employ more men for this job and empower them properly, it will be a great step forward for the city.”
Odife also stressed his commitment to keeping the environment clean, vowing to continue his work despite the challenges. “It will be a thing of joy to add more people to the job and empower them,” he added.
With the rapid growth of Onitsha as a commercial hub, the need for a clean and healthy environment has become even more critical. Hon. Odife remains optimistic that with the continued support of the state government and increased manpower, the Ocha Brigade will be able to rise to the challenge and make Onitsha a cleaner, healthier place for all its residents.
The Ocha Brigade, under Hon. Odife’s leadership has become a key player in the state’s environmental policies, consistently working to clear waste, improve sanitation, and enforce environmental regulations.
