The College of Chaplaincy & Psychology, Nigeria, an affiliate of the African American University, Porto-Novo, has officially announced the appointment of Dr. Elizabeth Pedro to the rank of Assistant Professor. This prestigious appointment, approved by the college, recognizes Dr. Pedro’s exceptional academic, professional, and community achievements.
Dr. Pedro’s journey to her professorial appointment has been marked by her fulfillment of numerous rigorous criteria. These include holding a terminal degree, showcasing a distinguished record of teaching in both Christian ministry and academia, and demonstrating sustained research excellence. Additionally, Dr. Pedro has made significant contributions to mentoring junior faculty members and participating in various high-level international conferences.
Beyond her academic accomplishments, Dr. Pedro has actively served her community as a counsellor, coach, and philanthropist. She is the founder and president of Women Helping Women For a Sustainable Tomorrow Foundation (WHW), which empowers women globally. Dr. Pedro is also the author of the acclaimed book A Woman in Her War Room, which has inspired women worldwide.
Her role in ministry extends beyond her academic credentials. Dr. Pedro is a Certified Transformation Master Coach Practitioner, Chaplain, and ordained minister, with over 15 years of service in ministry, chaplaincy, and humanitarian work. She is also an Ambassador of Peace to the United Nations and has received multiple awards, including the United States President’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2024.
The college commended Dr. Pedro for her outstanding service and leadership, both within and beyond academia, and recognized her as a beacon of empowerment and transformation. As she assumes her role as Assistant Professor, she is expected to continue her specialisation in Christian doctrines and Apologetics, contributing further to the development of academic and Christian communities.
This appointment marks a significant milestone for Dr. Elizabeth Pedro, whose contributions continue to inspire positive change and impact lives globally.
