In a tragic turn of events, the peaceful village of Nimbo in Uzo-Uwani local government area of Enugu State has been rocked by a vicious attack, reportedly carried out by criminal elements suspected to be Fulani herdsmen. The attack, which occurred late on Sunday evening, resulted in the deaths of numerous villagers and left many others critically injured.
According to our sources, the assailants targeted mourners at Ugwuijoro Nimbo community, leaving behind a trail of tears and sorrow. Among the victims were Okeh Simon Ugwu Oruku, Okeh Chukwuebuka, Julius Ogbonna Odiegwu, and Gabriel Ugwor Ezea. The community is now reeling from the devastating impact of this senseless violence.
Despite the gravity of the situation, neither the police command nor the state government have visited the scene or issued any statement in response to the development. The lack of official action has only added to the distress and uncertainty faced by the affected villagers.
This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for effective measures to address the escalating violence and insecurity in the region. The community and the entire state are left mourning the loss of innocent lives and grappling with the aftermath of thisheinous attack.
