Nnewi, Anambra State – The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc MNIPS PhD, has authorized the bereaved family of the three children tragically found lifeless in a fridge in Nnewi to proceed with their burial. This decision, he noted, is aimed at easing the family’s grief while the police continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the heartbreaking incident.

In an official statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, CP Orutugu assured the public that the Anambra State Police Command remains committed to unraveling the mystery behind the children’s deaths. He emphasized that while the police await the outcome of medical examinations, swift action will be taken if necessary to ensure justice is served.
The Commissioner also appealed for patience from Ndi Anambra and all concerned citizens, urging continued cooperation from the community to aid the investigation. He reiterated that the police are diligently working to gather all necessary evidence and will provide updates as soon as findings are conclusive.
The tragic discovery of the children’s bodies has deeply shocked the Nnewi community, with residents calling for thorough investigations to determine the cause of death and any possible foul play.
