The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc MNIPS, PhD, has emphasized the need for sustained and seamless coordination among security agencies to enhance public safety and uphold the rule of law.
During a familiarization visit to the State Director of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Awka, CP Orutugu reiterated the importance of a unified approach to tackling security challenges in the state.

He highlighted three key areas where enhanced inter-agency collaboration could significantly improve security outcomes:
• Improved Intelligence Sharing – Ensuring timely and accurate information exchange to anticipate and prevent security threats.

• Enhanced Operational Efficiency – Streamlining responses to avoid duplication of efforts and maximize effectiveness.
• Increased Public Trust – Strengthening confidence in security agencies through coordinated and transparent operations.

CP Orutugu stressed that proactive collaboration among security agencies remains a critical strategy in addressing crime, insurgency, and other security threats affecting Anambra State.
“Our collective goal is to foster a safer and more secure environment for all residents. By working together, we can respond more effectively to security challenges, reduce criminal activities, and build a society where the rule of law prevails,” he stated.

The Commissioner assured that under his leadership, the Anambra State Police Command will continue to engage with relevant security agencies to ensure a harmonized and effective security framework across the state.
Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, reaffirmed the commitment of the police force to transparency, professionalism, and collaboration in safeguarding lives and property in Anambra.
