Awka, May 13th, 2024 – The newly appointed Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has wasted no time in reinvigorating the strategic officers of the command and outlining action plans to enhance security service delivery throughout the state.
In a meeting held at the Command Headquarters in Awka, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam emphasised the importance of responsiveness and commitment to duty among police officers. He directed the establishment of training officers at the Area Command level to ensure the continuous skill development of officers serving in various Police Divisions. This training will cover areas such as police duties, musketry, and other essential aspects of law enforcement.
Recognizing the significance of collaboration among security agencies, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam stressed the need for a well-coordinated approach to respond effectively to security incidents in the state. This collaborative effort will ensure a more comprehensive and efficient security framework for the benefit of the residents.
Additionally, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam paid a courtesy visit to the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 13 Headquarters, AIG Godwin Aghaulor, PSC (+). This visit served to inform AIG Godwin Aghaulor of CP Nnaghe Obono Itam’s assumption of office and to establish a rapport with the senior officers of the Zone. Present at the meeting were the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance & Administration, DCP Agili Joseph, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, DCP Sylvester Adeji, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Criminal Investigations, DCP Iya Muhammed, and other high-ranking officers.
The initiatives set forth by CP Nnaghe Obono Itam reflect his commitment to improving security service delivery in Anambra State. By rekindling action plans, fostering skill development, and fostering collaboration, he aims to reposition officers and men of the command to better serve and protect the people of the state.
