Nsugbe, a town in Anambra State, has recently become a center of concern due to escalating criminal activities, particularly in the Prime Street area. A concerned resident, who requested anonymity, has made a heartfelt plea to Governor Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo to intervene, as crime and corruption have reached alarming levels in the community.
According to the citizen, Prime Street, located near Nwafor Orizu College of Education, has been plagued by various forms of criminality, including vandalism, theft, and corruption. Residents and students alike are living in fear as hoodlums continue to wreak havoc in the area, with little to no intervention from law enforcement.
“The situation in Nsugbe, especially in Prime Street, is getting out of hand. Crime is rampant, and corruption is making it worse. We need the governor to send in the Anti-Touting Agency (SASA), Anambra Vigilante Group (AVG), police, and even the army to rid our community of these criminals,” the concerned citizen said.
The resident highlighted the growing insecurity in Nsugbe, particularly on College Road, which is close to the Nwafor Orizu College of Education. Students and locals have become frequent targets of these criminal elements, with no sign of relief in sight.
“The government needs to act now before things get worse. These criminals are corrupting and destroying our community. It’s high time the authorities step in to protect the lives and properties of citizens in Nsugbe Prime,” the source added.
The resident’s plea comes amid growing calls for stronger security presence and governance in the area. With the current level of crime and corruption, there is a pressing need for immediate action to safeguard the community from further deterioration.
