Among the recent achievements, the police command successfully arrested suspects involved in armed robbery, murder, kidnapping, and car snatching. Emeka Okolo, Uchenna John, and Victor Iniukpong were apprehended for their connection to the kidnapping of Abuchi Madueke, which resulted in the death of Clement Obodozie. The command also recovered a stolen Lexus 330 jeep. These suspects are part of a larger gang still under investigation.
Furthermore, the police command arrested Nnatu Chicdozie, Onyeka Okoye, and Ndubuisi Emmanuel Abate for their involvement in a kidnapping syndicate responsible for multiple abductions, including those of Architect Sunday Etimbuk and Goodness Friday.
In Awka, the command successfully apprehended Emeka Okotor, Chidubem Ejiofor, Chigwo Nwankwo, and Chijoka Onyibor, recovering a pump-action gun in their possession. These suspects were linked to armed robbery and cult-related activities.
Additionally, the police command arrested Chibgbogu Favor and Mbanefo Udeze, notorious kidnappers known to operate in Anambra and seek refuge in Asaba. Meanwhile, Chigaemezu OKAFOR, a.k.a. England, and Uchenna NWAIWU, the alleged masterminds of several kidnapping incidents in Anambra, were arrested, and four pump-action guns and one double-barrel gun were recovered.
Acting on vital information, the Akwa State Rapid Response Squad (RRS) also arrested Ugochukwu Francis, a suspected armed robber and kidnapper with involvement in various kidnappings in Anambra.
The State Coordinator also addressed the spread of false information through social media, urging the public to verify incidents of crime with the police before sharing them. He highlighted the importance of reporting incidents to the police before disseminating information to avoid spreading malicious falsehoods and exaggerations.
Regarding a reported case of kidnapping in Dubai Estate, the State Coordinator stated that the purported victim has not reported the incident to any police station. He advised the owners of undeveloped plots in the area to clear their plots.
Lastly, in light of potential national protests, the State Coordinator emphasised that the police are responsible for regulating assemblies and protecting peaceful protesters. Any form of violence or protest that threatens the fragile peace in the state will not be tolerated.
The achievements of the Anambra State Police Command demonstrate their dedication to maintaining law and order, ensuring the safety of citizens, and combating criminal activities in the state.
