The Anambra State Police Command has taken full responsibility for the operational lapses that led to the escape of two suspects involved in the gruesome murder of Hon. Justice Azuka, the Honourable Member representing Onitsha North 1 Constituency. In a statement released by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the police reaffirmed their commitment to recapturing the fleeing suspects and ensuring that all those involved in the crime are brought to justice.

The Command assured Ndi Anambra and the general public that beyond ongoing security measures, efforts are in place to prevent such lapses in the future. “We shall not rest until the fleeing suspects are re-arrested and all those involved are held accountable,” the statement read.
In the spirit of transparency, the Command has pledged to keep residents informed about the evolving security situation in the state while urging the public and stakeholders to exercise restraint in their comments and reactions. The police emphasized the need to avoid incitement and misinformation that could escalate tensions, stressing that an impartial investigation remains a priority.
While the escape of the suspects has raised concerns, the Command reassured the people of Anambra that justice will be served and that necessary measures are being reinforced to enhance security across the state.
