In a bid to combat the rising wave of armed criminal activities in Anambra State, the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has charged police operatives to be on the offensive. This comes as the state police command commences training and retraining of personnel, aimed at enhancing operation efficiency and equipping them with the necessary skills in crime prevention strategies.
CP Itam, leading by example, recently took the trainees to the shooting range where they engaged in practical exercises. He personally assessed the schedule of the ongoing training and emphasized the command’s commitment to improving public safety and enforcing law and order in the state.
During his address, CP Itam urged the police operatives to build their courage and confidence in confronting armed hoodlums and responding effectively to distress calls. He emphasized that the police, along with other security agencies, will not allow the activities of disgruntled elements to make life unbearable for the residents of Anambra State.
The training and retraining program aims to equip police personnel with enhanced skills in crime prevention, intelligence gathering, and tactical operations. By honing their abilities, the police will be better prepared to tackle the challenges posed by armed criminals in the state.
In response to the recent surge in criminal activities, the Anambra State Police Command has taken proactive measures to ensure the safety and security of the residents. Alongside the training program, the command has intensified patrols and deployed additional personnel to strategic locations.
The police command also appeals to members of the public to support their efforts by providing timely and accurate information regarding criminal activities in their communities. By working together, the police and the public can create a formidable force against crime and ensure a safe environment for all.
SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer of Anambra State Police Command, stated that the command is fully committed to addressing the security challenges in the state. He urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities, assuring them that their safety is a top priority.
The Anambra Police force’s offensive against armed criminals marks a significant step towards restoring peace and tranquility in the state. With the training program underway and the commitment of CP Itam and his team, residents can be reassured that necessary measures are being taken to tackle criminal elements head-on.
As the offensive against armed criminals intensifies, it is hoped that the efforts of the Anambra Police and other security agencies will yield positive results, ensuring a safer and more secure environment for all residents of the state.
