In a decisive operation, police operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Awkuzu, have dismantled a notorious kidnapping gang in Uke, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State. Acting on credible intelligence, the officers stormed a criminal hideout at about 7:30 p.m. on May 9, 2025, arresting four suspects, including a woman, and recovering multiple stolen items.

The arrested individuals include Chigozie Udolisa alias T. Dollars, Anaolu Joseph alias Blue, Chukwuka Udolisa alias Udokamiri, and Chinaza Udemezue—the only female among them. All suspects are between 19 and 28 years old.
During the raid, police recovered three vehicles suspected to have been stolen during previous operations: a black Lexus GS 350 (Reg. No: ENU 561 LY), an ash-colored Toyota Camry (Reg. No: UWN 614 HK), and a navy blue Toyota Corolla (Reg. No: UMZ 135 AD). Other items seized include an HP laptop, a car spraying machine, assorted motor wires, and quantities of methamphetamine, locally known as Mkpurummiri.

According to a statement released by the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, all the suspects have confessed to being part of a syndicate involved in kidnapping, armed robbery, and car-snatching. Notably, suspect Chinaza Udemezue revealed that her boyfriend managed to escape the scene with their weapons upon spotting the police.
The police command has commenced further interrogation of the suspects, with efforts ongoing to apprehend others who fled the scene.
The Anambra State Police Command reassures the public of its commitment to combating crime and ensuring the safety of residents across the state.
