In a decisive move to strengthen the Anambra State Government’s communication efforts, the Anambra State House of Assembly has confirmed Dr. Law Mefor as the Commissioner-designate for Information. Dr. Mefor’s nomination, put forward by Governor Chukwuma Soludo to replace the outgoing Sir Paul Nwosu, was ratified following a thorough screening during today’s plenary session.
Presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Right Honourable Chukwuma Okoye, the lawmakers unanimously supported Dr. Mefor’s appointment via a voice vote, signaling their confidence in his ability to serve in the role. During the session, Dr. Mefor was praised for his qualifications, with legislators emphasizing the importance of effective information management in driving the state’s development goals.
In his post-confirmation remarks, the Deputy Speaker urged Dr. Mefor to remain dedicated to the people of Anambra and work closely with Governor Soludo’s administration to accelerate the state’s progress. He stressed the critical role of the Information Ministry in promoting transparency, government policies, and public engagement.
Expressing his gratitude, Dr. Mefor pledged to harness his expertise in political and strategic communication to elevate the Ministry’s operations.
