Obosi community witnessed a political earthquake today as ten key members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), alongside over 5,000 supporters, officially defected to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). The historic event was marked by a massive celebration and a formal induction conducted by the Honorable Commissioner of Works, Hon. Ifeanyi Okoma, who warmly welcomed the new members into the APGA family.

Among the prominent defectors were Hon. Stella Nkiruka Chukwukeri, the APC Woman Leader of Obosi; Mr. Stanley Ifeanyi Okafor, the APC Youth Leader; Hon. Faith Ekwunife Okoye; Hon. Success Okwudili, Ward Chairman of APC; and several other stakeholders who pledged their allegiance to APGA.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Stella Chukwukeri declared her joy at returning to APGA, describing the party as the true political home of Ndi Igbo.
“APGA is for Ndi Igbo. My leader and mentor, Hon Ifeanyi Ibezim, has been at the forefront of uniting our people under this great party. I have always desired to return to APGA, and today, I feel at peace because I am back to the ruling party of Ndi Igbo,” she said.

Welcoming the defectors, Hon. Ifeanyi Okoma, Commissioner for Works, praised the decision of the new members, noting that APGA remains the only party for Ndi Anambra.

“Our people are realizing that Ndi Igbo have one party—APGA. While others are busy campaigning, our Governor is busy working, building a better Anambra for all. His numerous achievements are visible across the state, and Ndi Anambra can testify. Indeed, Mr. Governor is God-sent to us,” Okoma affirmed.
The President General of Obosi, Amb. Chimezie Obi Esq, also commended the Governor for including Obosi in his development agenda.

“For the first time in history, a Governor has promised to establish a local government secretariat in Obosi. None of the past leaders remembered us, but today, Governor Soludo has placed Obosi on the map. This is a plus for our people. I urge every indigene of Obosi to come out massively and vote APGA in the forthcoming November 8, 2025 elections,” Obi stated.

The atmosphere in Obosi was charged with excitement as chants of “APGA bu nke anyi!” (APGA is ours) filled the air, signaling a renewed wave of political alignment ahead of the decisive polls.
