CP Felicitates with Christian and Muslim Communities on Mothering Sunday and Eid al-Fitr
Anambra State remains a safe and welcoming destination for visitors and tourists, affirmed the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc MNIPS PhD, on Sunday, March 30, 2025. Speaking on the security situation in the state, CP Orutugu pointed to the recent cultural display by his community, Okpoama Kingdom of Brass Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, as a testament to the state’s peaceful environment.

The cultural event, which featured vibrant performances, was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including revered Chiefs from Bayelsa and the Governor of Anambra State, represented by his Deputy, Dr. Gilbert Onyekachukwu Ibezim. Their presence underscored the significance of fostering unity across communities and reaffirmed Anambra’s commitment to cultural integration and security.

Anambra State is renowned for its rich cultural heritage, boasting numerous tourist attractions such as Agulu Lake, Ogbunike Cave, and Igbo Ukwu Museum. The state also hosts notable festivals like the Imo Awka, Afia Oru, New Yam, and Ofala Festivals, which celebrate its deep-rooted traditions and cultural diversity.

As part of his message, CP Orutugu extended warm felicitations to the Christian community on the occasion of Mothering Sunday and to the Muslim faithful as they mark Eid al-Fitr, the conclusion of Ramadan. He emphasized the importance of religious harmony and unity in sustaining peace and development in the state.
