Awka, February 28, 2025 – The Young Progressive Party (YPP) has officially commenced the sale of nomination forms for the November 8, 2025, governorship election in Anambra State. The announcement was made by the party’s National Secretary, Hon. Vidiyeno Bamaiyi, during a press briefing following a sensitization workshop held at the Hollywood Event Center along the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, Awka.

According to Bamaiyi, the sale of forms will run from March 1 to April 8, 2025. However, he did not disclose the price of the forms, promising that the details would be unveiled as the process progresses. He assured party members that the National Working Committee (NWC), under the leadership of Comrade Bishop Emmanuel Amakiri, is fully prepared for the upcoming election.
Speaking at the event, the party leader in Anambra State, High Chief Chinedu Umeadi, emphasized that the workshop was organized to strategize and reposition the party ahead of both the Anambra Senatorial District bye-election and the November 8 gubernatorial poll.
“The sensitization workshop is aimed at informing Ndi-Anambra that YPP, under my leadership, remains intact and fully ready for the two forthcoming elections,” Umeadi said. “We are deeply rooted politically across the 21 local government areas in the state. The future of Anambra belongs to us, and it is our responsibility to shape it.”
State Chairman of the party, Hon. Prince Moses Obi, urged members to begin door-to-door mobilization across the 326 wards in the state. He also commended Chief Umeadi for sponsoring the workshop and for his continued commitment to the party’s growth in Anambra.
The event, themed “The Anambra of Our Dream: Re-strategizing for a Better Future,” was organized by the state chapter of the party to educate members and brainstorm on repositioning the party ahead of the elections. The workshop witnessed the presence of key party stakeholders, including Hon. Sir Benjamin Nwosu, a leading aspirant for the Anambra South Senatorial District bye-election, among others.
With the sale of nomination forms now underway, YPP has signaled its readiness to compete in the Anambra 2025 governorship election, setting the stage for what promises to be a keenly contested race.
