The Anambra State Government has demolished a notorious hideout for criminal activities and kidnappings at Ndieze Nwankwo village, Uruagu Nnewi, in Nnewi North Local Government Area.
The bungalow, reportedly owned by Mr. Kenechukwu Ifedigbo, a notorious kidnapper who has long terrorized the community, was torn down by security operatives led by Mr. Ken Emeakayi, the Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Community Security. The operation was carried out in line with the provisions of Anambra State Homeland Security Laws.

According to community leaders, the building had been a site for criminal activities, with several kidnapped victims rescued from the location. Mr. Nonso Nwosu, President General of Ndieze Nwankwo Nnewi, confirmed the structure’s role as a criminal hub and applauded the government’s decisive intervention.
During the demolition, Mr. Emeakayi emphasized the government’s zero-tolerance approach to crime, urging residents to support security operations by reporting suspicious activities.

Mayor Echezona Anazodo of Nnewi North Local Government Area expressed gratitude to the state government, warning criminals to abandon their illicit activities or face similar consequences. He encouraged youths to embrace Governor Soludo’s “1 Youth, 2 Skills Initiative” to develop productive skills and contribute positively to society.

Honourable Ikenna Ofodeme, the Majority Leader of the Anambra State House of Assembly, commended Governor Soludo for his swift action and called on Ndi Anambra to cooperate with security agencies by providing valuable intelligence to make the state safer for all residents.

The demolition underscores the Anambra State Government’s renewed commitment to stamping out crime and fostering a secure and prosperous environment for its citizens.
