Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has commended the Special Anti-Touting Squad Anambra (SASA) for their outstanding contributions to maintaining peace and order in the state. During a victory celebration held at the International Conference Center (ICC), Awka, the governor praised the squad’s remarkable achievements since their establishment in October 2023.
Governor Soludo highlighted SASA’s success in clearing touts from the streets, particularly in areas like Upper Iweka, once infamous for criminal activities. “Upper Iweka and its environs are now calm, with no more bad stories. SASA has broken records in keeping Anambra free of touts and hoodlums,” he said with great enthusiasm.
Led by Director Solomon Chukwuebuka Onwuneme and his assistant, Monday Nwokoye, SASA has transformed Anambra’s security landscape. Their efforts have been widely recognized for creating a safer environment for residents and businesses across the state.
The governor extended his gratitude to all security personnel present at the event, acknowledging their collective role in ensuring a secure Anambra. “Everyone is doing great, and I thank you all for your commitment to our shared goal of peace and order,” he added.
The ceremony at ICC was attended by top government officials, security operatives, and community leaders, all celebrating SASA’s impact in curbing criminal activities. Governor Soludo reiterated his administration’s continued support for SASA and other security initiatives aimed at sustaining peace in the state.
As Anambra continues to enjoy the dividends of effective security measures, Governor Soludo called on residents to cooperate with security agencies in reporting any suspicious activities to maintain the state’s newfound tranquility.
