As the world marks the 2024 International Day of the Girl Child, Chief of Staff to the Anambra State Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, has called on all stakeholders, including parents, guardians, and religious leaders, to support Governor Charles Soludo’s administration in promoting the empowerment of girls through education.
In his congratulatory message, Mr. Ezeajughi emphasized the importance of education and proper upbringing for girls, urging the community to commit their well-being into God’s hands. He highlighted that Governor Soludo has made education accessible to girls through the state’s free education policy, ensuring no child is left behind.
“The administration of Governor Charles Soludo has achieved significant progress by making education available to the girl child, while the Ministry of Women Affairs has been rescuing children who are abused or forced to beg, putting them back in school,” he stated.
Speaking on the theme of the 2024 International Day of the Girl Child, Girls’ Vision for the Future, Mr. Ezeajughi emphasized the need for urgent action and the power of girls’ voices in shaping their future. He called on society to protect girls from exposure to vices, particularly those linked to social media, and to promote their welfare as they represent the hope of tomorrow.
