In a dramatic turn of events, the Director of the Anambra State Anti-Touting Squad (SASA), Mr. Solomon Onwuemene, has categorically denied any association with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following the circulation of a controversial audio recording. The recording, allegedly fabricated by PDP member Mr. Chinedu Okadigbo, falsely links Mr. Onwuemene to the opposition party—a claim he has labeled as baseless and desperate.
Speaking exclusively to Pechilly Investigative Media in Awka, Mr. Onwuemene expressed shock at what he described as a malicious attempt to tarnish his name. “I am, and will always be, a committed member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA),” Mr. Onwuemene asserted. He further clarified that he has not had any recent contact with Mr. Okadigbo, nor has he ever had any affiliation with the PDP.
Mr. Onwuemene urged the public, particularly residents of Awka North Local Government Area, to disregard the audio recording, which he described as a tool of misinformation aimed at undermining his loyalty to APGA. He emphasized that Awka North remains a stronghold of the All Progressives Grand Alliance and that the fabricated audio was an act of desperation from those who want to manipulate the political landscape.
The SASA Director also used the opportunity to reiterate his support for Governor Chukwuma Soludo, describing him as a transformative leader who has brought about significant human and infrastructural development in Anambra State. “The opposition is resorting to blackmail and propaganda, knowing they cannot win elections in Awka North against genuine APGA members,” Mr. Onwuemene added.
Pechilly Investigative Media concluded that Mr. Okadigbo’s claims are entirely false, calling on him to issue a public apology to Mr. Onwuemene for attempting to tarnish his image with deceitful tactics aimed at personal political gain. The public is advised to remain vigilant against such unfounded political blackmail.
