In a coordinated effort to bolster safety in Anambra State, the Anambra Vigilante Group (AVG), in collaboration with the Police and other joint security forces, have successfully recovered three unexploded improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and other dangerous materials during a strategic operation. The operation, which targeted a notorious criminal camp in the Lilu, Mbosi, and Isseke areas of Ihiala, also resulted in the seizure of two abandoned vehicles, copper wires, fuel, and additional incriminating materials.
The intelligence-led operation is part of ongoing efforts by Anambra’s security agencies to dismantle criminal networks and prevent further violence in the region. The Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, commended the operatives for their precision and urged them to maintain the momentum. He reaffirmed the commitment of the AVG, Police, and other security agencies to remain proactive in their fight against crime and to ensure the people of Anambra enjoy a safe environment.
CP Itam also emphasised that the forces are working tirelessly to deny criminal elements the space they once exploited to terrorise the state. The recovery of explosives and dangerous materials is seen as a significant step in preventing potential attacks and disruption in Anambra’s communities.
According to a reliable source, the security operations are still underway, and further updates on the situation are expected as developments unfold. Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security personnel as they work to eliminate criminal threats in the state.
This latest breakthrough in Anambra’s ongoing fight against criminal activity has been widely praised, and many are hopeful that the sustained efforts of the joint security forces will continue to reduce crime and restore peace across the region.
