In a chilling turn of events, a 23-year-old woman, Rahimat Salaum, has been accused of brutally murdering her husband, Shehu, during a violent altercation in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Rahimat was on the verge of fleeing with her husband’s possessions when alert operatives of the Nigeria Police Force apprehended her.
The FCT Command spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, released a statement on Tuesday, revealing the harrowing details. Adeh disclosed that Rahimat had confessed to the crime and subsequently led the police to a grim discovery: her husband’s charred remains abandoned in an uncompleted building.
“The operatives of the FCT police command attached to Pegi police Division, on July 29, 2024, at about 6:00 p.m., acting on credible intelligence, arrested one Rahimat Salaum ‘F’ age 23yrs of Pegi, Abuja in connection to the killing of her husband,” Adeh stated.
The suspect, who had reportedly been missing for three days along with her husband, was found in possession of his personal belongings and attempting to flee the scene when the police intervened. The details surrounding the altercation that led to Shehu’s tragic demise are still being investigated.
